| Rocket
Holloway |
Rivalling The Fridge as the preferred venue of choice for all the best trance and techno nights north of the river, the Rocket is having its' second renaissance. Steeped in history from the days of Megadog and Strawberry Sunday, The Rocket has now been host to the amazing Twisted Records / Tribe of Frog party in May '04 and Liquid Connective, Earthdance, Retrovert and the legendary Lost so far. The venue has many strings to its bow with Jah Shaka, London's biggest reggae night as resident for the past 15 years, Breakbeat Connection with their amazing bi monthly capacity parties and the countries biggest MOD festival which spanned 3 days and nights!!! The Rocket is a fantastic venue situated on Holloway Road and just 5 minutes walk from Highbury. The venue offers a non-corporate 'superclub' feel with the main upstairs hall delivering that old school feel. The venue has four areas of varying sizes and one of the countries' best courtyards complete with its own pond area. Even the fish like to party down here. The soundsystem is a brand new Turbo Floodlight system which can't be faulted in any way!! The door staff are also very friendly and happy to help with any problems that arise, a far cry from the dark ages. The many toilets have drinkable water which is never turned off during an event. The venue also has a 1250 capacity and a bar selling drinks at pub prices... |
